Solo Mel
Melvin J. Sandoval, also known as ALA Solo Mel, a 33-year-old male from Reno, Nevada, developed a profound love for hip-hop and graffiti art during his formative years. His artistic journey began in high school when he was captivated by the mesmerizing graffiti adorning a bridge along his daily route. Drawing from his innate artistic ability, inherited from a family rich in artistic talent, Solo quickly embraced graffiti as a natural form of expression.
Despite battling drug addiction and enduring five years of homelessness, Solo’s resilience and determination led him to a path of recovery and personal growth. Rising from the depths of despair, he reclaimed his passion for music by establishing a home studio, symbolizing a newfound beginning after losing everything. Coincidentally, his close friend Vic AKA El Perdido had embarked on a similar musical pursuit, culminating in the creation of a record label.
United by their shared vision and dedication, they’ve worked together to propel the label to relevance within their community. Together, they strive toward a common goal of reaching the pinnacle of the music industry, fueled by their unwavering commitment and collaborative spirit.
